Terms of Conditions & Community Safety Guidelines
Effective Date: September 2026 · Version: 2.2-beta
All virtual billboard placements, takeovers, and advertising bids committed on the BLOCS platform are final. In the event of a breach of these Terms, including but not limited to the submission of harmful, deceptive, or prohibited content, your ad will be stripped from the 3D skyline immediately with total forfeiture of all bid amounts and zero refund.
1. King of the Hill Placement Mechanics
BLOCS operates a competitive virtual billboard marketplace representing building facades and rooftops across Manhattan.
- Exclusivity: Each virtual building slot hosts exactly one active advertiser at any given moment.
- Minimum Bid Uplift: To displace an incumbent sponsor, a challenger must beat the incumbent’s effective valuation by at least 10%, subject to a minimum step floor ($0.10 for sub-$5 spots, $0.50 for higher valuations).
- Immunity Shield: Every successful takeover activates a guaranteed 30-minute Immunity Shield during which the placement cannot be outbid.
- Permanent Until Outbid: Placements do not require recurring subscriptions; they remain active continuously until overtaken by a qualifying competitor.
- Rematch: A successful takeover does not pay cash or wallet credit to the previous owner. They receive a rematch voucher locked to that same building. It applies only toward a later claim of that address, cannot buy a different plot, and cannot be withdrawn.
2. Nature of promotional credit and rematch
Amounts shown as dollars in the interface are a unit of account for BLOCS only. They describe promotional placement credit or a rematch voucher. You do not purchase real estate, a bank balance, electronic money, an investment, a security, cryptocurrency, or an NFT. No expectation of profit or cash payout is created.
- Not withdrawable: Promotional placement credit and rematch vouchers cannot be withdrawn, paid out, refunded as money, sold, assigned, transferred to another person, or converted into cash or any instrument outside BLOCS.
- Placement credit: Credit from supply drops and similar rewards may reduce the price of an eligible BLOCS claim. If it does not cover the full price, the remainder is charged through Stripe card checkout. Fully credit-funded claims do not open a card session. Stripe’s $0.50 minimum may apply to tiny remainders; extra collected for that minimum is not added to your building stake.
- Rematch voucher: After you are displaced, BLOCS may issue a rematch equal to your listed stake on that building. The next time you successfully claim that same building, the rematch is applied toward the server-calculated price. Any remaining charge must be paid with promotional credit or another enabled method. Unused rematch stays on that building only.
- Content removals: A placement removed for a breach of these Terms forfeits the bid and does not receive a rematch or credit.
3. Virtual Representation & Rights Disclaimer
All advertising surfaces, billboards, and placements provided on BLOCS are virtual digital artworks rendered within an interactive 3D digital simulation of New York City.
No affiliation, endorsement, or physical billboard ownership rights with real-world building owners, architects, or municipal authorities are implied or granted. Building heights and geometries are extruded from public municipal datasets.
4. Prohibited Content & Decency Standards
All submitted headlines, brand names, uploaded graphics, and destination website links must strictly adhere to our Community Decency Standards. The following content is strictly prohibited:
- Deceptive Financial Schemes: Fraudulent investment promotions, unregistered token pumps, phishing schemes, and counterfeit goods.
- Hate Speech & Harassment: Content inciting violence, defamation, discrimination, or targeted attacks against individuals or groups.
- Adult & Sexually Explicit Material: Pornographic imagery, escort services, or age-restricted adult themes.
- Malicious Links: URLs redirecting to malware, phishing destinations, direct executable files (.exe, .bat, .zip), or deceptive landing pages.
5. Background AI Moderation & Enforcement
All creative revisions undergo automated background safety screening via the Gemini AI content classification pipeline upon publication. Content flagged as non-compliant is suspended and queued for administrative review.
Platform administrators reserve the right to unilaterally remove any placement violating these Terms at any time without prior warning or compensation.
