Privacy at a glance

BLOCS uses your information to run your account, display the advertising you create, record activity on the platform, measure campaign performance, and help keep the city safe.

We do not sell your personal information or use third-party advertising trackers.

Information we use

The city visitor counters use a first-party browser identifier stored in a cookie for up to one year, refreshed on visits. We store its first and latest visit times to count distinct browsers and browsers active within the last 90 seconds. The public counters contain totals only. Clearing cookies or using another browser counts as a new visitor.

Depending on how you use BLOCS, this may include:

• Your email address and account profile.
• Brand details, website links, artwork, and advertising copy you submit.
• Records of placements, account balances, rewards, promotional credit, and transactions.
• Views and clicks on advertising placements.
• Approximate location, such as city, region, or country, used for campaign reporting.
• Information needed to protect your account and prevent misuse of the platform.

Some profile details and approved advertising may be visible publicly as part of the BLOCS experience.

Why we use it

We use this information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Publish and manage your advertising placements.
• Record purchases and maintain transaction histories.
• Show advertisers how their placements are performing.
• Review content for safety and policy compliance.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
• Respond to support and privacy requests.
• Meet our legal obligations.

When information is shared

We use trusted service providers to help operate BLOCS, including services for account authentication, data storage, hosting, payments, analytics, and content review. They may process information only as needed to provide those services.

Approved profile information and advertising content may be displayed publicly. Payment providers receive the information needed to process and reconcile a transaction. We may also disclose information where required by law or when necessary to protect BLOCS, our users, or others.

AI-assisted content review

Advertising copy and images may be checked by automated systems to help identify content that could violate our rules. These checks may affect whether content is published or sent for further review.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember necessary settings, and measure placement views and clicks. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Specifically, we use:

• Session cookie — keeps you signed in to your account. Strictly necessary; cannot be opted out of while signed in.
• block_visitor (one-year HttpOnly cookie) — a server-issued random browser ID used to deduplicate the displayed visitor counters and billboard placement views and clicks.
• blocs_cookie_notice_dismissed (browser localStorage) — remembers that you have seen this cookie notice.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described here, including legal, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution requirements.

Account information and submitted content are normally kept while your account is active. Some transaction and security records may need to be retained after an account is closed.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of your personal information.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information.
• Restrict or object to certain uses.
• Receive certain information in a portable format.
• Ask for human review of an automated decision.
